About Rise

A morning routine alarm for iPhone, made and supported by one developer.

Who makes it

Rise is made by one person, Emils Ozols, an indie iOS developer. I design it, build it, test it and answer the support email myself. It is one of six small iPhone apps I make for life's little annoyances, listed on ozols.dev.

Why I built it

I wanted to get up early and build apps before work and family life start. Rise is the alarm that gets me out of bed to do it.

How it is built

Rise is written in Swift for iPhone and uses AlarmKit, Apple's alarm system, so its alarms ring like the Clock app's own. It launched on the App Store on March 31, 2026, and every release since then is on the What's New page.
